ABOUT THE RELEASE
Teeko is a San Francisco based producer & DJ and half of the the future funk duo Starship Connection. On this collaboration he’s joined by native Bay Area funkster Diamond Ortiz (MoFunk) for a fine serving of synthesized boogie/funk fresh out of California. Teeko performs on a Roland JX3P, Mini-Moog Voyager, & Talkbox. Diamond Ortiz performs vocals with a Microkorg XL with a Rocktron Banshee Talkbox. Real Ones is a lively vocoder slapper written & performed by Teeko with DJ friendly instrumental on the B side.

CASUAL CRYPT
Casual Crypt is the project of San Jose based bedroom recording artist, James Vernon. Long time Bay Area musician (Li Xi, Invisible Light Agency) he created his Casual Crypt guise during a period of sobriety in the winter of 2018. His debut record, “Dead Men Can’t Ski” came quickly as a means of coming to terms with quitting drinking and making more time for sounds. Written and recorded in one month and primarily tracked in his room, this profound period fueled by coffee, cigarettes and anxiety ultimately found Casual Crypt in a solitary meditative state free to explore his Tascam 424 and digi-universe with a newfound vigor.
An eclectic mix of lo-fi psych, odd pop and synth baths, Casual Crypt draws from the well of fellow bedroom savants GBV, Ariel Pink and Kelley Stoltz but creates his own unique blend of snark pop and breezy riffs, soothing the burns with catchy hooks and submarine squalls that are the heart of this record.
A prolific writer, James is home carving out new jams to unveil when finally percolated and Casual Crypt is awaiting the day to commence to the stage with their now full lineup to play live music for eager humans.

PLATURN & EDGEWIZE
Meet Edgewize, a young Bay Area MC whose delivery is a torrent of interlocking themes and literary
references, paired up with DJ Platurn for their first release, Apatheater EP. Edgewize has Philipino roots
where he was introduced to DJing & breakdancing through his older brother & cousins. He dabbled in
young man hip hop culture, but ultimately grew into a wordsmith some call, a rapper. He’s passionate
and creative with his words, and chill and engaging in person. He has great energy on & off stage and
has countless stories to tell growing up in the Bay Area and dealing with the struggles of the modern
man.
The group was formed out of respect for hip hop music & sonically capturing organic jazz & psychedelic
influences for the songs. Platurn is a deep & knowledgeable selector with a broad record collection and
range of inspiration. He draws from jazz, rock, soul, & hip hop music to create the backdrops which
allow Edgewize to do his thing. The pair have many projects they work on individually, but have interest
in continuing to do more music together. Time will tell.
