ABOUT THE RELEASE
Teeko is a San Francisco based producer & DJ and half of the the future funk duo Starship Connection. On this collaboration he’s joined by native Bay Area funkster Diamond Ortiz (MoFunk) for a fine serving of synthesized boogie/funk fresh out of California. Teeko performs on a Roland JX3P, Mini-Moog Voyager, & Talkbox. Diamond Ortiz performs vocals with a Microkorg XL with a Rocktron Banshee Talkbox. Real Ones is a lively vocoder slapper written & performed by Teeko with DJ friendly instrumental on the B side.

Will Sprott
Will Sprott is originally from the sprawling, concrete computer town of San Jose, California. For many years he bounced from city to city on the West Coast spending lots of time in Oakland, Seattle, Portland & Los Angeles before becoming a country hermit up in the foothills of the Sierras in an old gold mining town called Grass Valley. He is a member of the band Shannon & the Clams & long-time collaborator of Shana Cleveland (of La Luz). As a solo-artist he has released two records: Vortex Numbers (2015) & Ten Fingers (2017). A third solo album, Natural Internet, is planned to be released in July of 2023. He has been perpetually touring in one project or another for nearly twenty years. He has performed all over North America, Europe & Australia.
Li Xi
Li Xi
Li Xi was a San Francisco-based band fronted by the talented Maryann Tran, whose unique
blend of melody and percussive aggression defined the band’s sound. With a style that was
both heavy and chaotic, yet also soft and melancholic, Li Xi quickly gained a following in the Bay
Area music scene.
Their 7″ single “Macro Garden” was a defining moment for the band, receiving critical acclaim
from San Francisco’s independent record shop Aquarius Records, known for carrying obscure
psych and world music. The record showcased Li Xi’s ability to blend crunchy, fuzzy guitar
sounds with dreamy, shimmering melodies, creating a sound that was both aggressive and
wistful.
Li Xi’s music defied genre boundaries, drifting between fuzzy, psychedelic decimation and
melancholic space-age pop. Their sound was truly unique, dwelling in a world of its own and
leaving a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to hear it.
Although now defunct, Li Xi’s legacy lives on, with their music still resonating with fans of
experimental and avant-garde music. Maryann Tran’s talent as a vocalist and songwriter
continues to inspire new generations of musicians, and the band’s impact on the San Francisco
music scene will not soon be forgotten.
