Lewis <i>\u2013 <\/i>San Jose, CA\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><i>Producer &#8211; Singer &#8211; Songwriter &#8211; Bass &#8211; Guitars &#8211; Keys \u2013 Percussion &#8211; Samplers<\/i><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An alum of Ex\u2019Pression College of Digital Arts, Brad Lewis has produced uniquely soulful electronic music for nearly a decade. During that time, he\u2019s revealed himself as a mutable sonic force able to cater his sound to fit a variety of musical contexts.His beat-centric work has been compared to Flying Lotus and Shlohmo, with polyrhythmic drum programming, precise sample chops, synth flourishes, and touches of swing. Label and self-released projects include the <i>Plug <\/i>EP (2011, Jus Like Music), <i>A Lion\u2019s Aperture <\/i>(2012), <i>Finding Incandescence <\/i>(2013), and <i>Passing Portraits <\/i>(2016).<\/p>\n<p>As a multi-instrumentalist and multi-faceted producer, his colorful range extends to rock, funk, pop, hip-hop, EDM, and soul. His production credits include collaborations with Chris Brown, Grieves, Brasstracks, Bad Rabbits, K. Flay and Teeko, among others.<\/p>\n<p>While he\u2019s often been a quiet force behind the boards, his recent single \u201cStrange Things\u201d featured Lewis front and center, both as producer and vocalist. He dropped the track in the summer of 2017 via Bandcamp and Spotify, gaining an overwhelmingly positive response. Since then, the track has earned more than a million streams on Spotify. Needle to the Groove Entertainment released the single as a limited 7\u201d vinyl release, on both <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"http:\/\/needletothegroove.net\/index.php\/product\/b-lewis-strange-things-limited-black-vinyl-7\/\"><b>black<\/b><\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"http:\/\/needletothegroove.net\/index.php\/product\/b-lewis-strange-things-limited-white-vinyl-7\/\"><b>white vinyl<\/b><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The track was admittedly an exercise in restraint for Lewis. Speaking with Silicon Valley alt-weekly <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"http:\/\/activate.metroactive.com\/2018\/09\/b-lewis-is-making-moves\/\"><b><i>Metro<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/span>, he admitted \u201cStrange Things\u201d was \u201creally against the grain for what I\u2019m used to making\u2026 I\u2019m learning to take things away instead of adding more and more and more.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"http:\/\/thebaybridged.com\/2017\/06\/05\/san-jose-producer-b-lewis-releases-new-track-strange-things\/\"><b>The Bay Bridged<\/b><\/a><\/span> noted that the \u201cmore melodic, old soul vibe\u201d was a fascinating departure from his earlier work, going on to call the track \u201ca nice refreshing piece of music coming out of San Jose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In early 2018, he further revealed his innovative approach to soul and R&amp;B with side with TESSA, a duo project featuring Lewis and vocalist Lake Stovall. Their full-length debut, <i>Moment<\/i>, came out digitally in March 2018.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Needle to the Groove followed up with a<b> <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"http:\/\/needletothegroove.net\/index.php\/product\/tessa-moment-limited-cassette-download-code-only-100-copies\/\"><b>super-limited cassette release<\/b><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In late October, Lewis dropped the collaborative <i>Daydrift <\/i>EP with Falcons from DJ collective Athletixx. BBC 1 Xtra\u2019s Jamz Supernova named it to her #EPTop5 upon release. \u201cWaterfall,\u201d featuring Goldlink and Jazz Cartier, has been called \u201ca slick and cinematic track well suited for a rainy day reflection\u201d by <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/revolt.tv\/stories\/2018\/10\/18\/falcons-lewis-share-track-waterworld-07004fab15\"><b>REVOLT<\/b><\/a><\/span> and a \u201csultry downtempo R&amp;B showstopper that will have you vibing all day\u201d by <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/runthetrap.com\/2018\/10\/19\/falcons-b-lewis-waterworld\/\"><b>Run the Trap<\/b><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>With the success of \u201cStrange Things,\u201d B Lewis has established himself as one of San Jose\u2019s brightest musical talents.
