Ozomatli brings their melting pot of global sounds and rhythms from LA to SJ, an intoxicating blend of Latin rock, funk, and hip-hop.
This is Ozomatli’s third appearance at Music in the Park (2013 and 2016). Ozomatli formed in Los Angeles in 1995. The band is known for playing Latino, funk, hip-hop and other world styles that keep their fans on their toes and dancing. The band started their careers opening for Carlos Santana. Their second and third releases, Embrace the Chaos and Street Signs, won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album. They fight for social justices, were the first band to speak at the TED Conference, and performed for President Obama. More recently, they have been recreating Mexican Classics such as “Sabor a Mi” and “Besame Mucho.”
